Hi I'm Pam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom, a nana, a sister and an aunt. I'm an avid reader and have have had many interests over the years. the ones that have lasted are: keeping dogs of all kinds I once had a pet wolf and received a proposal of marriage because of it, genealogy, an interest I developed as a child, travel, cooking, quilting, knitting, and as you may have guessed, family is important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was very young, someone taught me to walk as a companion of Jehovah. I come from a difficult family and walking as a companion of Jehovah makes me feel safe. Applying the teachings of the Gospel help me do that.

How I live my faith

I've held many positions in the church over the years. I've taught, learned and grown from all of them. We have a saying in this Church, "The Lord doesn't call people who are qualified, he qualifies those He calls".

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe family was instituted by God and is eternal. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Our health laws are outlined in Doctrine & Covenants 89:1-21. It forbids the use of strong drinks, which until recently, was interperted to mean coffee, tea & alcohol. In the fall of 2010, the ban on coffee & tea was lifted, though alcohol is still forbidden. Tobacco is also forbidden, however, if the distributers were to stop adding tar & nicotine, then it is possible the ban on it would be lifted. I don't foresee the ban on alcohol and recreational drug use being altered. Show more Show less
