Hi I'm Matthew.

I'm a husband and father, a non-profit CEO and a Rotarian. I'm a composer, a poet, a fly fisherman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband & father of four. I play the piano, enjoy sports, and serve my community as a Rotarian and also as a member of the Mormon church.

Why I am a Mormon

I've tasted the enduring happiness that comes from living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It has helped me to become a better husband and father--a more Christlike person.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. As a family we pray each morning and evening and over meals. We read the scriptures together. We volunteer our time serving others--both in our community and in our Church.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons read and study the Bible as the holy word of God. We also study the Book of Mormon and other scriptures that testify of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. Think of it this way--whenever we act in the name of someone else, we must have that person's permission or authorization in order for our actions to be valid. Also, when someone authorizes us to act in their name, we become responsible to say and do the things that they would say or do, if they were present. When we speak or act in the authority of the priesthood, God honors our words and deeds as if he himself had said or performed them. A wise person once said, 'If you're going to represent God, you'd better make sure you have his permission." The priesthood truly is the permission or authorization or authority to act in God's name.
