Hi I'm Annie

I loved growing up in Seattle. And now I am raising my family of 4 kids in Utah. I am grateful for life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 4 kids. Life is crazy, busy - but not that different from every other family. When I can, I like to read or do projects. I fit exercise in every day - but usually very early. That is also when I listen to books and get lots of "reading" done. I am always trying new recipes and searching for ways to make everything we eat healthy (although we really love treats). My four kids are busy with church activities, school and homework, piano, soccer, dance, tennis, karate, and friends. My youngest son is in a Chinese immersion program and I am learning bits of Chinese as I work with him each day. My husband is finally done with a 4 year battle with Leukemia and we are so grateful that he has fought so hard and survived so well. We are so grateful that we have all survived the past four years. We are looking forward to new adventures - and probably challenges as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I started as a Mormon because that is what I was born into. I came to a family on earth that had a long history of Mormons. They were faithful people who sacrificed a lot to be Mormon. But really, I knew all along that I wanted to be a Mormon. Not just because my parents and ancestors were Mormons. But I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that what Joseph Smith learned in the Sacred Grove is TRUE. God lives and His Son, Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that by obedience to the commandments and faith in Him, we can return to live with our eternal families. I know that we have a purpose here on earth. That we came to earth to receive bodies and to be tried and tested to prove our faithfulness to our Heavenly Father and His plan. I am a Mormon because I believe that the heavens are still open and that God knows and loves each of us. He can communicate that to us through the Spirit and our leaders. I am a Mormon because I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is true.

How I live my faith

I live my religion in many ways. Some things are constant about the way I live my Faith (like church attendance each Sunday, visiting teaching, serving and payment of tithing). But callings or church responsibilities come and go. I am currently assigned to work in the Nursery (children 18 months to 3 years old). Sometimes I say I work in a little cave. It is in the back corner of the church and we rarely come out of the room during the 2 hours each Sunday. Sometimes it doesn't smell so good. Sometimes there are lots of tears. But truthfully, it is a great place to be. Each week we sing songs. Some are just plain silly but we always sing "I Am A Child of God." It is so sweet to see these small children learn these simple, true words about their eternal heritage. Each week we always have a short, simple lesson that teaches them simple gospel truths like "I love my Family" and "I can Pray." These short lessons give us an opportunity to share simple testimonies with the children. Nursery is the beginning of their experience learning the truth of the Gospel. I am grateful to serve in any position in the church and I always try to give my all in fulfilling the responsibilities of that assignment. I believe that it is a reflection of my Faith and commitment to the Gospel.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely! We BELIEVE in Jesus Christ. We believe in the New Testament and study the life of Jesus Christ. He is our Savior. We try to follow his example every day. We believe that because of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins and ultimately live again. Show more Show less
