Hi I'm Melanie

I enjoy being a mom and a wife, exercising, reading, DIY projects, and spending time with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 34 year old, mother of 4 kids (9,7,4,1) and a wife of 12+ years to my high school sweetheart and best friend. I'm a former college water polo player and competitive swimmer. I love the water, sports, tools, diy, computers and gadgets. I also enjoy re-organizing or redecorating my home. I'm known to move the furniture around in rooms quite frequently - it gives me a fresh start. I have a new found love for building wood furniture and I enjoy blogging to keep a record of my family's activities and also for sharing home projects and other great tools/ideas. I'm grateful to live close to family and to have wonderful friends. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but I remember distinctly making the choice to follow this faith on my own when I was a teenager. In high school most of my friends were not Mormon and I began to notice during those years that my values were challenged by some of my friends. I then had the chance to evaluate what I really believed and valued for myself. I know that what I was taught growing up is true and I'm grateful that I decided to hold onto the values and principles that help me to enjoy a happy life that I can feel good about. I know that my choices have led me to know that this church is true. I believe that I'm here on this earth for a reason and that God knows and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the teachings and example that Jesus Christ has set for us. I love attending church every Sunday because it helps me re-focus on what is most important in my life and helps me to feel closer to Heavenly Father and my Savior. I love to listen to hymns - it helps bring more calmness into my life and allows me to reflect on my blessings. I have held a number of church callings in my ward. I have taught Primary lessons for children, taught lessons once a month to the adult women, and have also worked with the youth. Each experience has helped me grow appreciate what the gospel provides.
