Hi I'm Sean

I'm a Mormon. I'm a recent college graduate, working in the food and beverage industry.

About Me

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents were both members of this church before I was born. I have been an active member of this church my entire life. I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Chemistry and now I worked for Oberto, a food company in the meat snacks industry. I also served a mission in the country of Taiwan. I like to play sports, especially football, and am an avid college football fan. Go Dawgs!

Why I am a Mormon

Many might think that I never really "chose" to be a Mormon. For my entire adolescent life, my parents were often the driving force for my activity in the LDS church. When I moved away to college in 2005, however, it became my own decision to continue as a Mormon. There are many reasons I have stayed an active member of this church. Great friends, fun activities, and lots of free food are just a few. More importantly, I have continued to be a Mormon is because I know that this church has helped me to become a better person. I have learned new skills such as public speaking and teaching, I have developed greater personality traits like a good work ethic and a desire to learn, and I have had many questions answered for example, what is the purpose of life?. But most importantly, I know with all of my heart that this church is the Kingdom of God on the Earth. I know that this church is lead by a prophet called of God who gives us guidance in troubled times. And I know that through the teachings offered by this church, every person upon the Earth can become better and be more prepared for the opportunities in the world to come.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in my everyday actions. Jesus Christ gave us a great example of how to best live our lives, including loving everyone, treating them with respect, and providing service to them. I strive to follow this example, reaching out and doing service in the community, and helping other people when I get the chance. In my congregation, I serve as a clerk. This means that I help keep track of the finances and help keep accurate records for the membership of our congregation. One aspect of our church that I am grateful for is how important it is for us to keep track of all our members, and provide them with whatever help they need. Spending time serving in this way has helped me to see the importance of keeping accurate records, to allow the leadership of the congregation to help each individual member.
