Hi I'm Karie

I love being a mormon!

About Me

I am a 32 year old, wife and mother. I am so lucky to stay at home with my kids and take care of them. I love to sew, bake, make cakes!, sing and try my hand at new things. I believe there is nothing I CAN'T do. I struggle with keeping up on the house, and that frustrates me! I know that I am a work in progress!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Latter-day Saint. As an eight year old girl I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by my father. As my dad placed his hands on my head to give me the gift of the Holy Ghost, I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth from my head to the end of my toes. When you experience something so powerful as a young child it leaves an impression and since then I have always known that there was a God in Heaven, for I felt his love for me in that moment. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope that it gives me.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are eagerly trying to raise our children with a solid foundation of Family, Faith, Resposiblity, Learning, and Friendship. We have young children and we working hard at holding Family Home Evening every week. It's not an easy task with little ones wiggling and the busy schdule of life, but we keep on keeping on! We attend church faithfully. I currently serve in the program for young women for our ward and as a Visiting Teacher. I love visiting teaching (sharing a gospel message) with sisters in our ward. I love General Conference. There is a spirit present with each speaker. I know that The Prophet and Apostles are called of God. I look forward each spring and fall for the messages that will touch my life. I also LOVE reading through the Ensign.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Karie
As Mormons we are counsled to use our resources well. We are counsled to live within our means and store extra means. We are counseld this for our benefit, so that if hard time come our way we are prepared to take care of ourselves. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Karie
The best way I know is to sincerely pray. Pour your heart out to Him and then listen. Show more Show less
