Hi I'm Mitch Cornelius

Family man, working man, baseball fan, outdoorsman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to Shannon and a father of two. My family is my life and everything I look forward to each day. I learn so much from my young kids...I didn't expect them to be teaching me so much! I enjoy everything outdoors. Whether it is the beach, mountains, or cold snow, there is always enjoyment for me to gain from it. Heavenly father's creations on this earth are more beautiful to me every day. I've always been interested in architecture and construction. Most of our vacations consist of me pointing out fascinating building types and features. I've been able to turn this interest into a career...spending time on the design and construction side of some very fascinating buildings all over the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

Countless experiences in my life have brought me closer to my Savior. From health scares to family cares, Christ has been the steady hand guiding me. The messages of the Book of Mormon and Bible help explain His role in our lives. My faith in Him is directly tied to these experiences. I'm a Mormon because of His guidance in my life. I've had my faith challenged many times throughout life, and each time my resolve to follow His teachings is increased. I've had friends, family, even strangers attempt to dissuade me but study and prayer help me know that the Savior loves me and that I am doing what He wants me to. High school was the most challenging part of my spiritual life. It seemed everyone was joining a church. Many of my closest friends and coworkers spend a lot of energy condemning me and my beliefs. I spent considerable time in the word of God learning and growing my testimony. I came to know that what I believe is the truth. Christ did live and suffer for us. Joseph Smith did translate the Book of Mormon through the power of God. We can live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

Christ taught many things, all of which were to guide us to live our lives to be better people. Being a Mormon allows me the opportunities to put these principles into action. From opportunities for church responsibilities to helping neighbors...opportunities for service are abundant. With a little looking, you can find many people in need of help. I try to embrace these opportunities when I can. I live my faith by teaching my family. I love to read the Book of Mormon with my children and help them understand the Savior and His love. Often I feel they are the real experts when it comes to compassion and service. Heavenly Father has entrusted his children to our care, we can do well by remembering that everyone we interact with is a son or daughter of God. Everyone lives their faith a little bit differently, but it is the personal relationship we have with our Savior that dictates how strong our faith is. I love my Savior, I consult Him and seek His guidance. He is my closest friend.
