Hi I'm Carolyn

I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a friend. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 15 years. We love being parents to our five girls. There is a lot of drama in our house with so many girls but there is also a lot of love. I am a stay at home mom and most of my time is spent taking care of the needs of my children. But I also have many interests outside of being a mother. I love photography and have a small studio in my basement. In my "spare" time I love taking pictures. I also love to sing. I sing in a ladies vocal ensemble. It is a lively group of ladies and we have a lot of fun. I have a Bachelors degree in Spanish and love Hispanic food. I love to watch classic movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock films. I love to bake but even more I love to eat what I bake. I love to jog outdoors and I rollerblade occasionally, especially when I am pushing the stoller to steady myself. I love to laugh and to be with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon, their parents are Mormon and their parent's parents are Mormon and their . . . okay I will stop but you get the idea. I was raised a Mormon but I still consider myself a convert. I think each person comes to a point in life when you question the things your parents taught you and have to decide what you really believe. I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father to tell me if the church was true. And nothing happened. In fact the more I prayed the more the heavens seemed to close. It wasn't until a few days later when I was in a situation that I knew I should share my belief that the church was true that my answer came. I took the step of faith to share my testimony even though I felt my prayer had not been answered. As I spoke I was filled with an overpowering feeling of peace and love and I knew this was my answer. After the trail of my faith I recieved my witness. I continue to feel His love and influence in life every day.

How I live my faith

I sing in a ladies vocal ensemble. We are all Mormons and we love to perform and share our love of music. We sing a wide variety of music but we especially love to share our faith through music. Music unifies us as children of God despite any differences in our beliefs. We perform in retirement homes, in church and at community functions. I belong to the largest and oldest women's organization in the world. It is called the Relief Society and the motto is charity never faileth. I love the sisterhood I feel as we meet each week in church. I love to feel of their strength and desire to help those around them. I love to laugh and to cry with them. I feel so blessed to be part of such a wonderful group of women. Most importantly we try our best to help our girls know that we love them and that their Heavenly Father loves them. We read the scriptures as a family each morning and have a family prayer before school. It isn't perfect but we hope that it helps the girls feel their Heavenly Father's love throughout the day.
