Hi I'm Dustin

I like to think that I'm a realist but also dreamer, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Yes, I'm a "Utah Mormon" and yes, I'm proud of it. I grew up in a town called Cedar Hills and I'm currently serving as a full time missionary in the California Carlsbad mission. Honestly, I'm loving every moment of it. Independence and a strong will defines me. I believe wholeheartedly that dancing to the beat of your own drum is perfectly healthy and no one can tell you otherwise. My family and friends mean the world to me and I spend my free time doing anything and everything with them. I've always secretly wished that I was a superhero but I'm content with who God made me to be. I'm kinda sorta obsessed with Harry Potter and I'm still waiting for my acceptance letter from Hogwarts. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of my life but I'll cross that bridge when it comes. Whatever I decide to do, I trust it's going to be the best thing ever.

Why I am a Mormon

As many Mormons in Utah, I was raised in a completely active and faithful Mormon family. My parents were and still are stellar examples of how I can be happy in this life through living the principles taught in the true restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. They lovingly taught me to love the Book of Mormon, follow the Prophet, attend church every Sunday, and keep my standards high, in a world that teaches otherwise. However, there came a time in my life where I needed to discover for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints truly was the true church on the earth. Like it challenges in Moroni 10: 4-5 I earnestly prayed to know whether the Book of Mormon was true, if Joseph Smith was a prophet, and if the Church I had been raised in really was all it claimed to be. Although I didn't receive an immediate answer, I recognized the peace and comfort I felt whenever I followed the teachings of my parents, the Book of Mormon, and the Church as a whole. I now know without a doubt that this Church is in fact, true. If someone asked me the specific question, "Why are you a Mormon?" I would answer quite simply, "Because I could never be anything else."

How I live my faith

There are many different ways in which I live my faith, but the most prominent way as of now is serving my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on a full time mission. For two years of my life, I leave my family and friends and spend all day, every day in sharing my testimony with others of the true restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'll admit, some days are extremely difficult and scary, but I know my Heavenly Father loves me and will strengthen me in all I do. I hope to help bring the Spirit into people's live and share the happiness that I have felt through the Gospel with everyone I meet. My goal is to always be used by my Father in Heaven as a light to those who need it and lead them to the path of eternal happiness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides.
