Hi I'm Nicole Smith

I grew up in the United States and have always appreciated the freedoms here. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 22 years, now, and have 5 children. My oldest son is currently serving a mission for The Church in the Philippines, Manila Mission. My family gardens, owns a small landscape maintenance business, and believes in good old fashion hard work. We are striving to live the teachings of Jesus Christ, and utlilise the promised blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised attending the LDS Church, but as most youth do, I began to question my faith. After I graduated High School, and was struggling with a recent break up with my fiance, I turned to the Lord and decided to fast and pray while studying the Book of Mormon. I knew that it was important to know for myself whether or not the Book of Mormon was the Word of God, and if Jesus really is the Son of God. As I fasted, prayed and feasted on the teachings of the Apostles of Jesus Christ contained in the Book of Mormon, the Holy Spirit touched my heart and mind, with pure testimony, of the truthfulness of the teachings contained within the pages of that book, and the divinity of Jesus Christ. My mind was enlightened and my heart lifted. I can never deny the witness I have recieved by the Spirit of God. The Book of Mormon contains the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God sent to atone for our sins and provide the path for us to return to our Heavenly Father's presence.

How I live my faith

Honestly, I struggle. I must work hard every day to remember my Savior, his example, and teachings. I figure, if I serve others selflessly to the best of my ability, I will come to truly understand his teachings, and know my Savior. I share my testimony with others whenever the Spirit of God prompts me to. I serve in our youth organization at Church working with the Young Women, teaching and helping in their activities through the Church programs. I have served in our Women's organization in several capacities, Cub Scouts, and in the children's organization as a teacher and leader. Sharing my testimony through teaching correct principles and sharing the Scriptures with others is what I enjoy.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Nicole Smith
One of the questions I am asked about my own testimony is, "How do you know for sure?" My reply is simple and based on scripture: I quote from the Book of Moroni 10:4 & 5 - "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true... And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I love this scripture. I encourage all people who question how I know Jesus is the Christ, and that Joseph Smith, Jr. was called as a prophet of God to go themselves to our Heavenly Father, on their knees, in humble prayer, and ask. Then wait patiently for that still small voice which speaks to the mind and warms the heart for the answer. I testify that they will know for themselves by the testimony of the Holy Ghost.
