Hi I'm Shane Reno.

I'm a Mormon. I have been all my life. I am also a veterinarian. I love the Lord and all of His creations.

About Me

I am a middle-aged father of a remarkable 14 year-old son, Joseph, and the extremely fortunate husband of my Eternal Companion, or wife, Sherri, with whom I have been deeply in love for nearly 25 years. I am grateful for a set of religious beliefs that allow me to be married to my Sweetheart not only until 'death do us part', but for time and all of eternity. What a comfort that is. I am an extremely hard-working, self-employed Veterinarian, now in my 18th year of practice. I love to talk to people, and I love the Lord Jesus Christ, my Master, and my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church, around the age of 16 years, I had to make the decision to associate with friends whose values were not in line with those I had been taught by my parents. I was tempted at times to run around with these friends, but when I picked up my scriptures, I read about the "Armor of God". My earthly Father pounded the armor out of steel, but it was my Mother was the one who polished it and fitted it to me. I knew down deep inside that I knew I was a child of God and would be held accountable for all of my actions some day. I have a strong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I want the world to know that God is real, and so is his Son, Jesus Christ. This comforting knowledge makes getting through every day a lot easier. Because of my knowledge of the Gospel helps me appreciate all of God's creations, be they people or creatures.

How I live my faith

I go to my Church meetings, help anyone in need when I can, and live as a man who loves his God. I do everything I can to be honest with my fellow-man. I have the privilege of teaching the adult Sunday School class at Church. I love this calling, or duty, because I believe that I learn as much or even more than my class members. I never feel closer to the Lord, than when I am on my knees, praying in order to be able to teach a good lesson, one that my students will find interesting and compelling. To accomplish this, I have to live close to the Lord.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Shane Reno.
I feel that Joseph Smith was a charismatic man, who transmitted confidence, humility, faith and the power of God to those around him. He lived a life in which he seemed to take such care to be as Christlike as he could possibly be. If someone had been offended by him, he did not simply go and challenge them. He would look inward, really searching for anything he might have said or done to cause the offense. That is someone trying to be like Christ. Most people who met him felt something special from him, recognizing immediately that God was with this man. I would love to meet this special, special man someday. Show more Show less
