Hi I'm Chris

My wonderful family is the center of my life. I love soccer and the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Moved to the Seattle area 20 years ago for graduate school and have never left. My father was in the air force so I grew up in Texas, California, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. Consequently I consider my family my "home" more than the place I live. Married to a beautiful wife with with 2 wonderful children, a daughter and a son. Both are serving missions right now. I love playing soccer and spending time in the outdoors so I love living in the northwest. My wife is Japanese so I have strong ties to Japan and the rest of Asia. I thrive on diversity and the joy that comes from new experiences and challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

Family has always been the center of my life, wherever I have lived. God loves us and we are his children. This I know. I feel the truth of that in my heart evertime I talk or think about it. The trials and challenges of life are here to prepare us to be a part of our families forever. I know that the Gospel helps me daily to deal with the challenges and understand the eternal nature of our existence and experiences here. "What" we do and "who" we strive to become matters to God and those around us.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the bishop in our ward so I have the wonderful opportunity to counsel with all of the members regularly. Having responsibility for everyone in our congregation is a huge challenge but working with such great people makes it a joy and a blessing in my life.
