Hi I'm Mindy

I'm a wife and mother and a whole lot more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a married stay at home mom with two children. My kids are 11 and 14 and even though the physical demands have changed since when they were younger, the emotional demands deepen. I'm a college graduate and I substitute teach occasionally. I served a mission for my church in Brazil for 1 1/2 years and can still pull off some decent Portuguese. Unlike most people in the world who are busy all the time I struggle more with finding things to do while my kids are at school and my husband works. I value being able to be here when my kids get home from school and I love that they have the security of knowing I am able to drop everything for them at a moments notice to run a sack lunch to them but I'm always looking for the best ways to spend my time.

Why I am a Mormon

Following Jesus Christ and obeying Gods commandments bring peace and joy and a whole lot of happiness to my life. Heavenly Father is aware of my needs and even though sometimes I wish He would give me what I want exactly how and when I want it, I know He has a master plan and through trials and test is turning me into something better than I could have possibly planned for myself. Through Christ it's possible to have joy during hardships and peace during chaos.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things to do is service. To me sevice is a little bit selfish because I always walk away feeling better than I did before. I am the primary president of my ward, that includes running an organization of 100+ kids weekly. I volunteer in the community as well. I take my roll as wife and mother as one of the most important things I can do with my life.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The knowledge of why we are here on this earth is one of my favorite subjects. Truly it is a question everyone has to have pondered at some point. Since I am around children a lot I am a little more simple in my answers. We are here on this earth for two reasons. The first is to get a body that's a free one we did not have to work for at all! and to the second reson is to be tested. That's a little more tricky because "the test" is to see if we will obey God and follow Jesus even though we can't remember anything about our life with them before this earth. I think it's important that we don't remember because then it would be easy to do everthing we should because we could remember how glorious it was to be with them and do everything we needed to return to them. The true test is if we will still live a Christ like life even though we can't remember. It requires faith, especially when at times our personal test on this earth gets hard. But just like a test at school we can erase some of our wrong answers before we turn it in. This happens through repentance. Heavenly Father knew that we would screw up here on this earth and since He loves us and does not want us to suffer guilt and saddness, he provided a Savior for us all, His son Jesus Christ.
