Hi I'm Emily

I'm a grad student in speech disorders. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 26 yr old grad student studying Speech Pathology. I plan to work with kids in schools or early intervention programs. I love hanging out on the beach, tap dancing and traveling. I spent some time as a missionary in South Africa were I learned to love and enjoy other cultures!

Why I am a Mormon

I have had many experiences throughout my life that have confirmed my choice to be Mormon. Most have been as I have lived God's commandments and felt good because I chose to follow Christ. Being Mormon makes me so happy! I love this gospel. Although I discovered a stronger devotion to it during the time I spent in South Africa, I always knew, through the holy spirit, that it is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am patient and kind to others and I try to remain positive, even in times of struggle and stress. Once a month I also get to teach mothers and wives in my church about the lessons we hear from our prophet and apostles. I arrange activities for the young women in the church between the ages of 8 and 12 that help them develop their talents and live the gospel. My husband and I pray and read the scriptures together every day to increase our faith and knowledge of the truths we have learned. We attend the temple as often as we can so we can remember the promises we have made with our Heavenly Father.

What is being a Mormon like?

Emily
Being a member of the Mormon church is great! It is definitely a part of my every-day life, not something I just do on Sundays. There are commandments I follow that help me show my faith by how I think, act and speak to others. These include temple service, sharing the gospel with others and studying God's words. It also gives me a sense of inner peace, strength, and direction. I know my purpose here on earth, and I understand what God wants for me, which helps me feel a sense of self worth that I don't think I could ever get from anything or anyone else. Show more Show less
