Hi I'm Frank

I 'm a Tech for a Software company, and a new father of a 5 year old girl, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in San Diego, I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school up until 8th grade, then went to public high school. My parents had 10 children, four boys and six girls, I am the last son. All but 2 sisters, live close by. My family is very close, and get together for family Birthday’s and holidays. Every week we have Taco Tuesday and the whole family gathers at my sister’s home for a fun night. I enjoy travel, camping, fishing, playing softball, coin & gem collecting. I also love to go boating, I recently rented a house boat on Lake Powell with two of my brothers. I have a degree in electrical and systems engineering, and have been blessed with a good job. I work for a company that provides software and support to school districts, who use my company’s administration software.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I'll start by telling how I became a Mormon. My wife of 7 years now (married in 2004) is a Mormon and has been since birth. When we were dating we took turns attending each others churches. After we married I decided I liked the sense of community and the welcoming feeling of belonging at my wife’s church, so I started attending only the Mormon Church with her. After two and half years or so, two missionaries assigned to our area asked me why I have been attending church for so long and have not joined the church. I told them I was not sure about this and that and they simply asked if they could come over to my home some time and help answer my question about this or that. I told them yes they could, and they answered all those questions and more. But let’s get to the real reason I am a Mormon, when I followed the missionaries suggestion to pray about the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and Prophets, I received an overwhelming feeling of good and truth and love. When I prayed for confirmation that I should be baptized my mind and heart where again filled with love and a true confirmation that being baptized in the Mormon faith was the correct choice. So why am I a Mormon? Because I found the truth we are all looking for.

How I live my faith

I must admit before becoming a Mormon I rarely participated in "Church" activities. But like I mentioned before, being a Mormon and belonging to this church gives you such a sense of community and family that you start attending those dinners, community service projects and other activities or events with your fellow church members. I never had a feeling of belonging will part of the Catholic Church, so it nice to feel like I belong in Mormon Church. I serve in the Mormon Church as a member of the Stake (local area) council; it has been such a positive learning experience. Serving on the council has given me a fast forward view of the amazing love for ALL people the leaders of this church have, I have learned how this church is run by mostly lay people and their diligent efforts in serving one another, I have learned that how this church was organized is inspired of God our Heavenly Father, I have learned that serving one another, neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend, co-worker to co-worker is the only way to be truly happy in this life.
