Hi I'm Mark

I'm a news junkie, an outdoor enthusiast, a family man...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 25 years old, married to the love of my life, and I'm a father of one. I have a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, and more than three years of experience in TV and Radio. I love spending time with family and friends, hiking, working in my yard, and swimming. I'm fluent in English and Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the perfect plan of happiness. I know that God loves me and that He is always there for me. The Gospel provides the answers to all of our deepest questions and desires, and helps us understand our relationship with God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Jesus Christ, restored in our day with all the power and authority given to Christ's ancient Church. We can receive personal revelation and answers to our most sincere prayers, and God has given us a living Prophet of God on the Earth again, to lead and direct us on a path back to our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the peace and comfort that a knowledge of God's plan brings me, and I know that these things are true because I have received very personal answers to my prayers...and you can too.

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday School teacher in my congregation, and I teach the youth aged 14-18. Each week I have the distinct pleasure to help them better understand the Gospel, and their relationship with Jesus Christ. By applying the teachings of Christ found in the scriptures to their daily lives, they gain the strength and ability to overcome the challenges they face. I love working with the youth, because I feel like I can make a real difference. I'm also a "Home Teacher", which means another member of my congregation and I visit the homes of two families at least once a month, and make sure their Spiritual and Physical needs are taken care of...in addition to the monthly visit, our families spend time together swimming, playing at the park and even going camping. One of the best parts of being a Mormon is the network of incredible friendships.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mark
Of course! The full name of the Mormon Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Just like many other religions, we believe that Jesus Christ is our personal Savior and Redeemer, and that he paid the price for the sins of the world. Jesus Christ was born to Mary in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago, but His teachings and sacrifice have daily impact in the lives of all mankind. We believe that Salvation can only come in and through Christ our Lord. By following His teachings and His example, we can return to live in heaven with our loved ones forever. Show more Show less
