Hi I'm Emily

I'm a mom. I love to learn and teach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have three young children. I enjoy taking pictures of my kids' adventures. I also love to read and learn new things. I teach writing at the local community college for a few hours each week, but first and foremost I am a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church since I was a little girl. As a young adult, I have had many experiences that have strengthened my testimony that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith, and I know that it is all true because the Holy Ghost has confirmed it in my heart.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church each Sunday, and I serve in the women's organization and visit other sisters each month. I also pray and read from the scriptures daily and teach our young children about Jesus Christ. One way that we do that is by holding a family night each week. We have a short lesson about Jesus, sing songs together, pray together, and just have fun as a family.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We revere him as a prophet--like Moses or Abraham--because he was a prophet. The Scriptures teach that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Just as He called prophets anciently to guide the Church of Jesus Christ, He continues to guide His Church still today through a living prophet. Show more Show less
