Hi I'm Kurt

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think that I am a very laid back person. My friends my say otherwise, but that is because I always have something going or am planning something for all of us to do. I am working for a law firm helping people save their homes from foreclosure. I work with the banks to lower people's interest rates and payments. It can be very stressful at times, but my background in Hospitality Management has taught me to be be very patient and understanding of people's needs. I really enjoy traveling around the world. I have been to quite a few different locations. Some include: Chile, Greece, Romania, Russia, Latvia, Mexico, Holland, Canada, and the majority of the Caribbean. I have been to over half of the states in the US. I think it is great to experience new places and meet new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I believe in Christ and his gospel. I believe in the priesthood and the power that it has. The Mormon church is the only one that can literally trace the authority of the priesthood back to Jesus Christ. That is pretty powerful. When reading the Book of Mormon, it confirms everything that the Bible tells us. It also tells about the ancient people here in the Americas. The powerful feeling of truthfulness and correctness is overwhelming every time I kneel down to pray and ask my Father in heaven if it is a true book. I have never felt that way about any other piece of literature before.

How I live my faith

There are many ways to live your faith. I believe that it all starts with a desire to live Christ’s simple teachings. I do this by simply trying to live the age old rule of treating others how you want to be treated. There have been many times in my life that I have gone to a new area and not know a single person. It was so lonely and miserable. I was shy and had a hard time meeting people and making friends. Once I made friends, it was my goal to help others who were new to the area feel welcome. I did not want them to go through what I had felt. On Sundays, I would look around and try to introduce myself to those people and welcome them to church. I try and live my faith by simply trying to make right choices. I try to think of what the Savior would want me to do. I try to be honest and help people when I can. One of my favorite things to do is make others happy and laugh. It brings me so much joy to see people come together and have a great time with each other.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes Mormons are Christian. If you look at the actual name of the Mormon Church, it is called: The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. In order to be Christian, you need to believe in Christ and follow his teachings. All Mormons believe in Christ, and like most people, so their best to follow His teachings. When you break down and evaluate the official name of the Mormon Church, you see that it specifically says The Church of Jesus Christ. We believe in Jesus Christ and all his teachings. The church is set up the same way Christ had first set up His church. The phrase “Latter-Day Saints” refers to the time period we are currently in. We are considered Saints when we accept Christ and His teachings and join His church. Because we are in the days after Christ, but before His second coming, we are considered to be in the latter days. Therefore, we are known as the Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less
