Hi I'm Tawnya Jones

I love to serve. I work on cars. I am grateful to be a wife and mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom. I went to college to learn about auto mechanics. I enjoy tinkering with cars and using my knowledge to help others. I also love to create. I enjoy making something useful out of things that might otherwise go unused. I am learning how to be a pirate. We have a swing set that doubles as our ship and my children and I search for buried treasure. Deep in my heart I am a fearless cowgirl! I had horses in my teenage years and gained a love and respect for them. I find great pleasure in serving others, and becoming more like Jesus Christ. I wish I was artistic and could express myself through art or music. I love to make new friends and be a little silly. I find pleasure in running and being outdoors and I am usually pretty willing to try new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrines of Christ that are taught in the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints have changed my life in so many ways to be better than anything I ever could have planned for myself. The strength, guidance and confidence that I gain as I work to become more like Christ is witness to me of the love my savior has for me. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. I know that I am cleansed and healed by the atoning powers of Christ. I know Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. I know our prophet has been called of God and receives revelation from God. And I know that the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ church restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in lots of ways. Some big and some very small. I have been asked to be a leader and teacher to the teenage girls that attend church with me. I have been doing that for 3 years and it makes me so happy to spend time with them being "young" again. We meet every Sunday as a group of young women and have lessons that teach the girls about topics of the gospel that relate to them and their lives. We also meet once during the week to have activities that help implement our sunday teachings into their lives. Our activites during the week are usually very relaxed and fun filled. I serve others to help us all grow closer to Christ. I make an effort to serve in my community as well. Along with serving I spend time on a regular basis studying the scriptures, searching for ways to learn and improve myself. I also spend time in prayer seeking guidance from Heavenly Father. My goal is to be progressing, whether it is great or small, I just want to progress.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Tawnya Jones
A testimony is what someone knows to be true related to the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we gain a witness from the Holy Ghost that something is true it becomes a part of our testimony or those things that we testify to be true. Show more Show less
