Hi I'm Ryan

I have a comedian for a wife. I'm a daddy of five children. I'm a wannabe rock star. I believe in world peace and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Elvis, a good movie and a cheeseburger (even though my wife is a vegetarian). I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday the 13th. My parents were going to name me Lucky but I'm glad they didn't. I come from rodeo cowboy roots and have crooked nose from a bull to prove it. I've hung up my hat but I still love that country music. I'm a family man with a quick witted wife that keeps me laughing and five children that are all full of sunshine and sass just like their mother. I'm a talented lip syncer and air guitarist. Sometimes I think my kids actually think I'm a real rock star. I'm a Democrat and feel it is important to have members of the church serving in both political parties. I embrace what President Faust, one of our beloved church leaders, wrote: "I am liberal in terms of human values and human rights. I believe what it says in the Book of Mormon, that the Lord values all of his children equally – black and white, bond and free, male and female, Jew and gentile – and that the Lord likewise has compassion for the heathen.” I work in the medical field and love new technology. My job in imaging informatics allows me to test the latest gadgets and find how they can be useful for healthcare providers and ultimately enhance patient care.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of my membership in this church I have learned of God's perfect plan for me which answers all of life's questions, where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going. I've learned and felt that the source of all my happiness and peace comes directly from my loving and merciful Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I am certain that all I have, including my wonderful family, is because of this love. I had to make changes in my life in order for these blessings to be poured out upon me. I remember my sweet mother nudging me along with letters filled with inspired messages and scriptures to get me to open my heart and eyes to the blessing that were within my reach. Once I took that first step I was helped along the way and was able to comprehend the atoning sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ and really feel of his love. I know that there are so many good churches with good people in this world that teach gospel truths. And I feel a great responsibility to make sure these people, that I know, have an opportunity to hear more of these truths even the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness. Which includes the detailed plan that Heavenly Father has for all His children. And the truth that families can be together not just for time but forever. And that there is another witness or book that testifies of Jesus Christ's perfect life...The Book of Mormon. I'm grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The inspired leaders, revealed principles and pure doctrine keep me on the straight and narrow and keep me and my family safe. I know this is Jesus Christ's church, and I know that it has been restored exactly how it use to be with apostles and a prophets that guide us through these latter days. This church is a divine gift that has been given to every man woman and child on earth. This knowledge brings me happiness, peace and hope for the future.

How I live my faith

I know how I am supposed to live my life because I have a perfect example in Jesus Christ. Each morning I wake up and strive to be more like Him. I'm not even close most days but I'm always grateful for another day to try again. My wife and I try to read scriptures and pray with our family daily. It's not always a success with young children but they know it's important because we stick with it. We also try to have personal scripture study to remind us, each day, who we are and who we represent. I make an effort to have a one on one talk with each child once a month to get a feel for how they're doing. We also have a date night once a week at home with one child. They get to stay up late and play games and have a treat with mom and dad. And of course Mommy and Daddy have our date nights too. My wife is a teacher and I work with the young men in the church. We love our town and the people in it and look for ways to serve them.
