Hi I'm Robert

I'm a farm kid, an outdoorsman, a business man, a husband, and father, And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a family man, a business owner, a sports nut, a political follower, an avid outdoorsman, and a churchman. I grew up in the outskirts of Rexburg Idaho on my grandfathers farm. I had many great experiences working with all of my cousins and uncles through those younger years. I moved irrigation pipe, I drove tractor, diggers, harvesters, and bailers. My neighbors where dairy farmers, so I guess you could say I lived the farmers life. I started fishing at a young age with my father, I love to fly fish, I started hunting when I was young as well, I have had many wonderful experiences in the outdoors. I was involved with gymnastics for a great deal of my youth as well, from age 3 to 12 I competed in a large area. I was a 2 time State champion in the 10 to 12 year area. I played baseball every year, I made the allstar team two different years, I played first base and pitcher. I ran track through jr. high and high school. I set 4 school records which was very rewarding. I am an eagle scout and earned the silver palm. I served a full time mission for the Church in Columbus Ohio, soon after my return home I married my highschool sweetheart. We currently have two children. We are also foster parents and currently have 3 children who are siblings and we are hoping for adoption. I am currently the scout master in my home ward, we have a great bunch of young men, it is very rewarding to se them mature into such great young men. I am a restaurant owner, When I turned 16 I got a job washing dishes at a local restaurant, I worked there until my mission. When I returned I continued employment there until 2006 when an unfortunate event took place in which the owner died and I was able to purchase the restaurant with my brother. It has been a great blessing and I try to help those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have a testimony of its truth from the Holy Ghost. I can't deny that, and although I don't claim to know everything there is to know about the gospel, my testimony is strong. It grows daily and I know that I have been greatly blessed for my efforts in blessing the lives of those around me.

How I live my faith

In everything I have ever done in my life I have tried to do my very best. I have a tendency to go both barrells at the same time, in other words, I get really involved in whatever I do, and the Lord has blessed me to be succesful at many things. I think the most important thing for me is to understand where your abilities and strengths come from. I beleive it is directly from the Atonement, the grace of Jesus Christ, that enableing power of the atonement. I know whithout it I am worthless. I have a great love for the church, I have never faltered in my testimony, I have been blessed to be very sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and I have come to recognize his presence. I think my mission was the great learning ground for understanding and recognizing this. It has proven to be a great blessing in my life. My family and I have daily scriptures, and prayer, of course we have our slumps, but we strive. I am far from perfect, but because of our Savior's atonement and repentence, I hope to someday stand blameless in the presence of my Savior and My Father in heaven and hear the words, Well done my good and faithful servant.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Robert
We beleive in being saved by grace, after all we can do. In other words we are saved by our works and by grace. Mercy will not rob justice, and vice versa. The grace of Jesus Christ will enable us to return to his presence. We absolutely are powerless without it. Show more Show less
