Hi I'm Mike

I am a Father of six great kids. I am an Ophthalmologist. I'm a Humanitarian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up skiing with my dad, playing basketball with my friends, and going to school like everyone around me. I really enjoy most all sports. I met my wife in college. We like to spend time with our kids going on trips to the beach, Teton National Park, Lake Powell, or any other location just to be together and make some good memories. I am self employed which gives me some flexibility to go when we need to. One of my hobbies is to do humanitarian work in Latin America working with organizations to improve the eye care in that part of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel a real dependence on the Savior in my life. I have always felt a deep debt of gratitude for the sacrifice He made for me. Being a member of His church is how I show my love for him. The church gives me a structure in my life where I can teach my children the things He taught and try to live my life following His example.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in my everyday life by being kind to others. The Savior gave us the perfect example. I work with the college age kids in the church. They are a great example to me of energy and optimism. Their hearts desire good things, and that brightens my life.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is central to our happiness in this life and the life to come. Our Heavenly Father placed us in families so we could learn and grow while on the earth. Our participation in family units allows us to prepare to live with Him again after this life. Show more Show less
