Hi I'm Ben McCallister

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a beautiful and wonderful woman who is the mother of our six children. My wife and my children are my greatest joy. I am a co-owner of a company that I love and enjoy. I love economics and its application across many subjects. I am completely disgusted by politics yet I claim it as one of my most passionate interests. I enjoy sports . . . a little too much and couple it with some nerdiness by participating in fantasy football, basketball, and baseball. I like to read. I like to think. I like to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

Why wouldn't I be? The gospel doesn't just make sense - it works! The gospel certainly requires an individual to trust in the Lord and to develop faith. We do not have answers to every question, but it is surprising to me how much knowledge is available in the gospel and how that knowledge helps explain so much of our world. It helps us understand our place in the world and it helps us understand who we are and what we can be. The gospel explains so many of the unexplainable things that plague my friends and acquaintances. The gospel is the "good news" because it doesn't stop at merely encouraging us to be better. Rather, it provides us with the tools and information in which we can improve and overcome our weaknesses. We can become clean. We can be made pure. We can come unto the Savior and see his face and know that he is. We can become like him. It helps us become who we are supposed to become. We do all this together . . . with our family, a unit of power and purpose - a unit that can continue. I am a mormon because of all this and much, much more.

How I live my faith

I strive to be honest in my business dealings and work hard for the success of our company. We say prayers before company lunches and dinners and openly discuss the importance of living a principled and value centered life. I enjoy knowing that I can be a powerful influence for Christ in how I perform my daily labors. I coach my children and their teammates in many youth sporting activities. I teach 13 year olds at church and participate in the home teaching program in our church. I love to know and find truth and will seek anyone willing to discuss their application in daily life. I love associating with good people from all backgrounds and take strength in the relationships that have developed over the years.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Ben McCallister
Anything that proceeds from God through the mouth of His holy prophets is scripture. The Bible was written and recorded by prophets of God. As long as what was recorded was done so correctly, then we adhere to it as scripture. Show more Show less
