Hi I'm John Broomhead

I grew up in the logging communities of southwest Washington state. I am a U.S. Army officer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and Father of 2 sons. My sons and I are Eagle Scouts and we served as missionaries for our church. I served in Fresno, CA. I attended Boise State University where I became commissioned officer through ROTC. I have over 23 years of service in the U.S. Army and have several deployments to include Somalia, Bosnia, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I'm an avid runner. In my free time I enjoy target shooting, photography, and reading. I have been married nearly 30 years and enjoy movies, iron skillet cooking and motor sports with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I believe in the eternal nature of the Family. I believe that the same organization of Christ's church in ancient times is on the earth today and is led by a living Prophet and Apostles who receive revelation from Jesus Christ. I believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. Both of these books testify of Jesus Christ. It is by reading these scriptures and by following the guidance of a modern day Prophet that we come to know our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. After this earth life is over we will return to live with our Father and Savior as an eternal Family.

How I live my faith

I follow the Savior's example and strive to do what is right daily and live the Golden Rule. I believe that when you are serving others you are serving God.
