Hi I'm Richard.

I'm from Iowa, I'm an artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an artist and a designer. I paint portraits and landscapes. I have a wife and two wonderful daughters and grandkids.

Why I am a Mormon

We joined the Church because of the example of love shown by our dear friends to each member of their family, and to ours. We felt welcomed and valued by them and at Church meetings and activities with other Latter-Day Saints. When we moved away, my wife wanted to go to Relief Society even though we weren't members. So we called the mission office and they asked if we would like to meet with the missionaries. We did and were baptized a short time thereafter. The gospel has given us the promise of an eternal family and an understanding of our nature as sons and daughters of God. The gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to us..

How I live my faith

I help our Bishop minister to the needs of the members in our area. I also visit several families who live near our home, share gospel messages with them, and try to help them in other ways whenever I can.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to be happy and find joy by following the example of Jesus Christ in serving each other in anyway that we can, even very small ways. As I follow the example of Jesus, I do more to honor his sacrifice for me and feel his love in the relationships I enjoy with my family, friends, and neighbors. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The law of Chastity is sexual purity and complete fidelity to your spouse. It means controlling our thoughts and words and what we choose for entertainment. It is respect for the sacred power of creation and so also for the trust that a husband and a wife places in their love for each other and their children. Living the law of chasity frees me from the dangers of self-indulgence, strengthens my marriage and assures my wife that no one is more important to me than she is. Show more Show less
