Hi I'm Kylee

I'm a wife. I'm a stay at home mother. I'm a lover of the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have the blessing of being a wife to an amazing husband and a stay at home mother to our little boy. I love being in the outdoors camping, hiking, rock climbing, etc. I also love to take my son to the park, the pool, and the library. We are also currently hoping to adopt another baby to add to our family. I find so much joy in having a family and knowing of the love and the plan that our Savior has for us. It has blessed our lives beyond measure!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church when I was born, and so I grew up in the church. However, like all youth, I got to a point in my life where I really wanted to know if the things I had learned about were true. I still remember when I decided to read the Book of Mormon and to pray to Heavenly Father to know if it was true. I vividly remember a very strong, peaceful, warm, happy feeling of the Holy Ghost testifying to me that the Book of Mormon was true. I followed this pattern of praying to know if different aspect of the gospel are true. As a result, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the Earth. I also know that it is the same church that Christ established when he lived on the Earth. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that he truly did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. I know that the doctrines and principles taught in the gospel of Jesus Christ are true. The more I learn about Jesus Christ and strive to follow His example, the more happy I feel. I know that Heavenly Father always listens to our prayers and that He always answers them in the way that will help us the most. He is always ready to help us through our hard times and to rejoice with us when we are happy. I know that the family is a huge blessing from God! I am eternally grateful for the things that I have learned and that I know to be true. They have helped me to have hope and faith when times are tough, to be a kind and patient person, to be a forgiving and understanding wife, and to be a loving mom.

How I live my faith

I love looking for opportunities to help everybody come to know how much their Savior loves them. I help the young women ages 12-18 in my ward congregation by planning activities and lessons that will bring them closer to Jesus Christ. I strive to help them realize the "big picture" and to notice that the decisions they make now will affect them for the rest of their lives. My husband and I also serve as the chairs for the Colorado chapter of Families Supporting Adoption an organization that tries to promote a positive view of adoption. We organize conferences, play groups and other activities that help to educate and to support those people whose lives are touched by adoption. Families Supporting Adoption includes all birth parents, adoptive couples and adoptees people that were adopted when they were younger. We find great joy in the service that we are able to render in this capacity.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

As I read the scriptures, I learn so much about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the plan that they have for us. The stories I read about in the scriptures give me strength, courage, faith and hope. I notice that I have more peace in my life and that I can feel the Holy Ghost more in my life when I take the time to read my scriptures each day. They help give me answers to my prayers, comfort when I am sad and the faith to keep going. I absolutely LOVE reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, because of the many ways that it blesses me and my family. Show more Show less
