Hi I'm Becca.

I have red hair, four kids, and a violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of four two boys, one girl, and one angel my fourth-a boy-was stillborn in 2011. I love to read fantasy, some sci-fi, and history-both fiction and nonfiction. I did my undergrad in business and music and hope, in a few years, to return to school and get a master's in music theory. Despite a dislike of running, I ran a marathon-just to say I could. I like to bike, write and arrange music, sing and teach just about anything to anybody. I also have my ham radio license-thanks dad!-and like to work on my cars.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church and always had a strong testimony, but it wasn't until I went away to college when I was 18 that I realized how much the church meant to me. At that time I began to question the things I had been taught and whether I believed them or not. I knew that I was a Mormon to the core when I realized that I knew who my Savior was and that this was His Church. I knew no matter where my life took me, I would always be a part of His Church.

How I live my faith

My primary means of living my faith right now is as a mother. I have the wonderful opportunity to see the world through my children's eyes as they give me glimpses into what they are thinking and how they are learning about God as they see His beautiful world. I love my job in the church as a counselor in the women's organization called Relief Society. I am so lucky to know so many great women and to have some great role models. Being in a leadership role gives me the opportunity to see how much the Lord supports His children, both directly and through other people. It strengthens me to see so much good.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by prophets who lived in the ancient Americas. It's location was revealed to Joseph Smith in the early 1800's and through the power of God, he translated it into English. The Book of Mormon clarifies and teaches the same truths as found in the Bible and contains the word of God. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Basing your family life in Christ's doctrine can bring a happiness and a sweet peace no matter what happens to you. In March of 2011, my fourth child was still born, less than three weeks before his due date. The cord was wrapped around his neck. My husband, my other three children and I were so sad that this had happened. But we were blessed with many wonderful experiences that let us know that Jesus Christ was helping us through this painful time. Knowing that our relationships with others continue on through eternity gives us motivation to keep trying to be better people and to get along better with those we love the most. Having Christ's perfect example gives us a guide of how to treat those who are most important in our lives. Show more Show less
