Hi I'm Russ

I'm a husband. I'm a dad. I'm an avid dirt biker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Canada and have lived all over the United States. I also served a mission in Venezuela. I have been married for a little over 6 years and I have an amazing wife and son of 5 years old. We are currently in the process of adopting and are excited to enlarge our family through this miracle. I am a huge fan of the outdoors. I love to dirt bike, rock climb, hike and camp. I also enjoy ultimate frisbee when I get the chance. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but had the privilege of living close to many historical church sites. When I was in middle school, I lived relatively close to Palmyra, New York which and visited the Sacred Grove. As I was at the Sacred Grove I was able to feel a special peace. I also had the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon several times throughout my life and have asked the Lord in prayer whether the Book of Mormon is true. Each time I have asked, I have felt a special feeling and I know that it is true and that the answer I received came from our Heavenly Father. I love that we can trust in the Lord to answer our prayers and know that He loves each one of us.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the young men in church (ages 12-18) for the past 4 years. I love working with the young men because they are such special spirits and they each have taught me so much. Currently, I am the Stake Young Men President, which means that I help train each of the leaders in our area on how we can better serve the youth. In reality, I think us leaders learn more from the youth than we teach them. I also get the opportunity to make visits to various families in our congregation on a monthly basis. I check up on how they are doing, provide service when needed and offer frequent prayers in their behalf. I love to serve!
