Hi I'm Zach

I am 6' 5". I love airplanes and reading children's stories out loud. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty regular guy. I love to bike and play sports. my favorite sport is Soccer followed closely by volleyball and basketball. I am currently a student who can't wait for school to be over! I go to UVU in Orem and I study Communications. I hope to one day work Tillamook, an Airline, or in the animation industry doing marketing related stuff and in my spare time would like to help my wife achieve her goal of teaching American Sign Language (ASL) to Deaf adults who grew up without language. I am jack of all interests I guess you could say. I am happy to be alive now. I am insanely in love with my wife, Heather who is the heaven in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have tested the words that Jesus spake in the Bible when he says "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself" (John 7:17). I have done his will, by keeping his commandments to serve and love others, and have seen the fruits that they are good. Matt 7:16. I have read the Book of Mormon more than 15 times in more than one language and have followed the words in them that taught me to believe in Jesus Christ and God our Heavenly Father. I know that God loves His children and that I am one of those children. The Book of Mormon also taught me to pray with my heart, and through sincerely praying I have learned that the gospel of Jesus Christ in its entirety which I have only found in this faith is true. I know it is true. I live by the words "by their fruits ye shall know them". This is such good fruit!

How I live my faith

I currently work with the 16-18 year old youth at my church. We have a lot of fun together playing games, building friendships and learning about Jesus Christ and how He blesses our lives and helps us overcome our trials. I love every opportunity I get to serve others who are in need. Often, members of my faith will ask for blessings when they are sick or in need of comfort and with the priesthood of God I can give them a blessing. It is a truly humbling experience that reminds me of how human I really am.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Zach
Think of someone called to "testify" in court. They simply share with the judge, witnesses and everyone else present their knowledge or even belief about a particular topic related to the case. In the Mormon faith, the word testimony is the same. A person who "bears their testimony" or "testifies" are simply stating something that they know or believe in. For example, when I "testify" that prayer is real, I am really stating that through my experience with prayer I have come to know that it truly works; that you truly can talk to God and He can talk to you.
