Hi I'm Amanda

LDS and grateful that I am.

About Me

I love Art, Psychology, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding, the cartoon Tom & Jerry, Studying my patriarchal blessing and spending time with my Husband and our families. I was adopted through LDS Social Services when I was 1 month old. I HAVE met my birth family and I talk with them daily, sometimes weekly. I have NOT met my birth father. I was married in the Manti, Utah, Temple in December 09. I'm not a mom yet, and I have a husband that will make an AMAZING father!! I am currently going to college to become an Art Therapist and work with young children and adolescent teens.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised and baptized in an active LDS home, with a loving family and amazing parents. Yet in 2006 I was admitted to a local rehab because of my violent and suicidal behavior, and use of drugs and alcohol. I was there for a year and a half. I was there because Heavenly Father heard the prayers of my loved ones, and provided many miracles even a year ahead to provide the financial stability to admit me and support me in the rehabilitation center. It saved my life. I have now been clean and sober for 4 years and counting. When i was 18 and getting ready to graduate the rehab program I realized that I had always known the church was true, but I also knew if I admitted it that I would have to be accountable for my actions and I didn't want the responsibility, so I rejected the church, its values and am ashamed to say I spoke negatively about the church. But once I was in rehab and was away from the influences of the world I felt my Saviors hand stretched forth, I realized that I truly am a Princess, a Daughter of a King, and I wanted to take his hand...I wanted to change. It was then that I truly was converted. I thank my Father in Heaven everyday for the lessons I've learned through my trials some of which were my fault and thanked Him even more for the power of the Atonement. I have now been clean and sober for 4 years and counting and am more joyful then I ever have been in my life!

How I live my faith

I have the honor of teaching six, 5 year old boys. : I love them dearly. Its been amazing to teach them, when in fact THEY have taught ME! I have learned so many things from them! There unwavering faith, there natural joy, as well as gaining a stronger testimony of the simple basic truths of the LDS religion. I teach them with 2 other sisters twice a month, and it's not enough. : I also am a visiting teacher. I visit teach other newly-wed women if that makes sense and I have great joy that I can mix, mingle, learn from and teach others, my age and in similar situations. :

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
