Hi I'm Colby

I am a soccer fanatic. I run ultra marathons. I'm a husband. I'm a father. And i'm a Mormon

About Me

I love soccer more than sleeping, and eating!! I have played soccer my whole life. I played for the college that I went to for a little bit, I watched 55-0f the 65 world cup games in the summer of 2010, I coached for the local high school, and coached for four years at the club that I grew up playing with, and I paly as much soccer in the community that I live in now. I have ran 5 ultra marathons. I am not the only one that runs Ultra's in my family, two of my brothers, sister, and Dad run as well. It's kinda turned into a family tradition. In kinda of a weird way running has brought us as a family closer together. When I am not playing soccer or running, I rock climb as much as possible, camp, hike, hang with my wife while doing all these activities, and play with my kids.....soon to be kids...second one is on the way!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me eternal happiness and joy. Knowing that I can be with my wife and family forever is everything to me. Knowing that Jesus Christ died, suffered, and resurrected for me fills my life with light, peace, and excitement! When I go through difficult times Jesus Christ lifts my burdens, and gives me strength. Knowing that I am child of God, and that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and wants me to be happy, gives me hope and motivation to become the person who my Heavenly knows I can become. I know that as we go through difficult times in life, as we go though exciting times in life that God is always there to support and lift me to higher heights. My strength lie in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And through the gospel of Jesus Christ I can have eternal Happiness and that kind of happiness is everlasting.

How I live my faith

The reason that I love to coach soccer is not only because I love soccer, but I love to be around youth. The youth have a light that shines, and being around that light motivates me to be a better person. I also get the chance to visit families once or twice a week to share the words of Christ through the scriptures with those that are sick, and struggling in life in whatever way; doing this has been a huge blessing in my life, and has brought me closer to my Savior. I also get to teach almost every Sunday a gospel principles class at church. While teaching I feel like that I have gotten more out of the lessons then those that I teach because individuals share uplifting and inspiring words that bring that spirit and strength my motivation to be more like Christ. I also get to teach the youth at my church, mostly the young men. Every other Sunday I teach the young men and once during the week we meet up at the church to various activities from playing games, to serving and helping others in our community. I live my faith not because it's asked of me, but because that is who I am. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is just as much as a part as my life as eating and sleeping. I don't know how I would function without the gospel, the gospel has truly brought a life that is worth living, it has brought, hope, strength, happiness to my soul and everyday life. I am forever indebted to my Savior for His sacrifice.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?
