Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in Utah, and served an LDS mission in the Philippines.

About Me

I'm a generally happy person, and always willing to help out. I recently got married, and am currently loving life with my wife. I always try to see both sides of any discussion, whether about religion or what's for dinner. I enjoy doing most activities: sports, reading, video games, movies, socializing, relaxing, etc. I try my best to be a well-rounded person.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member, but as with everyone, a time came when I had to choose whether I truly believed it or not. I'm a naturally skeptical person, so it takes a lot for me to believe in something. I began to notice around me what effects the LDS Church had on people. I personally shared it with numerous people. I saw families come together that had been in discord. I saw large difficulties piled upon people who were trying to be better people, but the world seemed to hold them back. Yet, as they grew closer to God through his church, despite their trials, they grew happier. Ultimately, I choose to believe because I have felt God's touch on my own life. I have asked Him in prayer if the Book of Mormon is true. I felt the distinct answer of "Yes". For all these reasons and more, I'm forever grateful to God that I am a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I do my best to treat others well. I try to be sympathetic and empathetic to anything someone is going through. I help where I can, and try to find help for others when I can't do it myself.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Steven
With all the countless religions and non-religions claiming they are the truth, finding the truth can be a daunting task. But God has given us something physical that we can examine both intellectually and spiritually in order to find the path to Him: The Book of Mormon. Many things about religion can be difficult to believe at face-value. Some may not know if Jesus was the Son of God. Others may not believe Joseph Smith's accounts. But The Book of Mormon can testify of the truth of each of those things to us. If we read The Book of Mormon and pray about it, God will tell us whether or not it is true. And as the truthfulness is confirmed through our study and prayers, that also confirms that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. It confirms that God has called prophets in our day to help us along the path to Him. It confirms that Joseph Smith was an instrument of God in bringing forth His truth and Gospel in our time, restoring what was lost. You may read me claiming these things, but in order to know for yourself, you need to read The Book of Mormon and pray to God, asking if it's true. Show more Show less
