Hi I'm Rochelle.

I am a college student. I am a Family & Consumer Science Education Major. I am a cook & a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student majoring in Family & Consumer Science Education aka. Home Economics Education. My choice in my major reflects my love for cooking, nutrition, interior design, and other crafts. I also love taking photos as well as playing the piano. My favorite thing to do is to experiment in the kitchen and make-up new recipes. I got married in 2010 and love married life! I hope to be a mother some day.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormons, so I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. However, as I grew older, I wanted to know for myself if the church I have grown up with was the true church after all. I prayed and peace just flooded my heart. I realized as I reflected on my life how my testimony of the truthfulness of this church has grown as I have grown, I just needed to notice it. God does bless us and helps us grow, even if we don't realize it. I continue attending church and living it's standards because I have seen the benefits of living a righteous, good life. I have avoided so many pitfalls just from living the gospel. I am grateful for the guidance and strength the this church constantly gives me. I have a good life because of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I help out at church by playing the piano for our children's organization called Primary. I learn so much from these little ones. Their examples of purity, innocence, and unwavering faith remind me that I need to constantly develop those qualities as well. I love visiting the women in our ward. I learn so much from them as well. The sisterhood in the church is such a strength to me. After losing my mom to cancer, I missed the comfort, guidance, and support I got from her. I find comfort, advice, and love from the women in the church. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve them and visit with them often. Another thing I do is pray and read the scriptures with my husband. This strengthens our marriage, and helps us learn how to help each other and draw closer to the Lord.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We all will agree that we aren't perfect. There are times when we mess up, don't do what we should, or when we could have done better. It is easy to do. This is a problem though because "no unclean thing can enter into His kingdom" 3 Nephi 27 19. We become unclean every time we sin or "mess up" and thus cannot return to our Heavenly Father. The Savior made it possible for us to repent, to become clean, and to make it possible for us to return back to the kingdom and presence of our Father. There is great peace and love that replaces the guilt and sorrow we feel after we have sinned. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ because I know I can become clean from my sins. I know He loves us, and wants us to return back to our Heavenly Father. This is why He sacrificed His life for us.   Show more Show less
