Hi I'm Peggy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Peggy Ann. I am a wife, mother of five sons and a daughter, grandmother of fifteen. My husband is a helicopter pilot. I have worked at a chicken plant for nineteen years and counting. I am well known for my janitorial expertise. I have artistic ability and have crocheted afghans and done oil paintings. Currently I am involved in taking pretty colored Duck tape, wrapping it around the tip of an ink pen in the shape of a rose. I love music. My assignment at church is to lead the music for the congregational singing at Sacrament meeting (worship service). I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents were members of the Mormon church. My parents taught me the gospel and set a good example in obeying the commandments. The Holy Ghost has witnessed to my heart all along the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have increased in my ability to follow Christ's example, and I have found great peace and happiness in my life. I know that I am a child of God. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer. I am comforted to know that families can be together forever. I try to follow Christ's teachings in His Sermon on the Mount. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the Restoration and that The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that we have a living prophet of God upon the earth today. I am so blessed, I always want the Gospel in my life!

How I live my faith

As I said before, I am the chorister for congregational singing in our worship service. I am also a substitute teacher for the Sunday children's classes. I have an assignment to visit four other "sisters" on a monthly basis. We love and strengthen each other. At the chicken plant where I work, it is very important to me to be of service to others. I strive for excellence in carrying out my assignments. I even carry home dirty cotton gloves and launder them so I can share them back with my co-workers. When I have janitorial assignments I do an excellent job. The appreciation people show for having a clean, well stocked bathroom is very gratifying.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The Bible is a compilation of the words of Jesus Christ and His prophets that lived in the Old World, the Book of Mormon is a compilation of the words of Jesus Christ and His prophets that lived on the American Continent. Mormon is the name of the American prophet who compiled the words of all the American prophets into one book, thus it is called the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
