Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a redheaded girl that loves life and my Savior. I have a wonderful redheaded husband and two cute redheaded kids, so we kind of stand out as a family altogether. I love music and have a bachelors degree in that, but I also love couponing and finding great deals. I am passionate about teaching and especially the gospel, and have a blog where I post things I learn from the scriptures called Scripture Cravings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in the church by two wonderful parents. However in middle school I became friends with some amazing peers that really helped shape, mold and strengthen my testimony in the Savior and in his gospel. The more I live the gospel, the more I am blessed and everyday I have experiences that strengthen my testimony that I am a member of the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I am the music director for our congregation. I get to choose the hymns we sing each week, and any special musical numbers. I am also in charge of the congregation's choir. I also am a visiting teacher who gets to watch over two sisters in our congregation and teach them once a month or more, and help them with any needs they might have.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Brooke
A Mormon's life is pretty typical of how many people try to live today. We study God's word through the scriptures daily and pray often to maintain constant communication with God. We work to have strong family relationships. We try to stay out of debt and have savings and a food storage so if problems do come in our lives we will be prepared and be able to be self-reliant and help those around us. We eat pretty much the same things as the rest of the world, except we stay away from drugs, smoking, coffee, tea and all alcohol. We go to church for three hours each week, but it's broken into three sections. The first is our sacrament service where we take the sacrament and listen to talks given by members of the congregation. The second is our Sunday School hour and the congregation is broken down into groups to be taught more age appropriately in the scriptures. The third hour we are broken down further into men and women groups called the Priesthood and Relief Society where we are further taught gospel principles. We strive to maintain high levels of integrity and living righteously, because we know we cannot be happy if we are living contrary to what we have been taught. A Mormon lifestyle in general though is a healthy and happy lifestyle, try it! Show more Show less
