Hi I'm Juli

I'm a wife & mother who just ran her first half-marathon. I love music, movies, & politics. I'm a closet rockstar & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife; to my best friend, my personal comedian and my soul mate. I am a mother; to four amazing, adopted children. Three of them with varying levels of special needs. They are clever & courageous, stubborn & strong-willed, they are my life and my greatest joy. I am a runner; well...sort of :) I just ran my first half-marathon and am surprised, after a life of disbelief and denial, that running is fun! I'm a solo runner - earbuds in & music blaring! I am an educated voter; I feel that I have a responsibility to learn everything I can about current affairs. I believe that people can disagree and still get along. I know that if we come together with Christian values first and pride last we can accomplish great things! I am a musician; I grew up in a family that worked, played and relaxed to music. I studied vocal performance in college and teach piano and voice. I believe that music is powerful - emotionally, spiritually & physically. I secretly dream of being a rockstar - but in reality wouldn't change my life for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I believe that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father. I find strength and comfort in His plan for me. Daily I seek His guidance as I strive to be a good person, wife, mother, and friend. I know that He hears and answers my prayers. As I've dealt with depression, infertility and raising children with special needs, He has given me strength and peace. I know that without His help I am lost. I know that His son, Jesus Christ, lived and died for me. He suffered for my sins, shortcomings, and sorrows. It is only through Him that I can be made whole and healed. I have felt His love in my life's most difficult times. I love the scriptures and find inspiration and hope in the Bible and Book of Mormon...as they both testify of my Savior, His life and His gospel. I am amazed by the prophecies and miracles found in Old Testament. I am inspired by first hand accounts of my Savior's life & the miracles He performed in the New Testament. And, I am strengthened by the additional witnesses of Him that fill the pages of the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon influences everything I do! Because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel a desire and a responsibility to care for those around me...especially those who have no voice. I try to focus less on the small challenges of daily life and more on the things that have eternal value - like sevice, spiritual growth and family. The structure of His Gospel allows me opportunities to teach, serve others and reach beyond my circle of friends and family to those who are in need. The spiritual aspect of His Gospel is more personal; I am encouraged to study the scriptures, speak to my Father in Heaven through daily prayer, and strive to be like my Savior in my thoughts and actions. As I do this, my life is blessed with perspective, peace and hope.
