Hi I'm Don

I get up early, enjoy the scriptures, eat oatmeal, and design machines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The way of life that my father taught me has sunk deep into my heart. Everything that he tried to teach, by example and by word has been consistent with the scriptural teachings of the Savior. I discovered this through the slow process of reading from the scriptures. Initially, my efforts were inconsistent. Gradually, a pattern emerged of daily reading the words of the prophets. At some point, I began to notice that when I read from the scriptures, thoughts would come to mind that explained in greater detail the meaning of the passage and relevance to my life and situation. I had discovered that the Gift of the Holy Ghost, which I received by a holy ordinance at age 8, had become a wonderful source of personal revelation. I had learned, for myself, through the experience of daily immersion in the word of God that the testimony of Christ born by the Book of Mormon is true. There could be no other explanation of what I had felt and experienced over the years. This realization has been a cherished blessing to me.

Why I am a Mormon

The Lord has guided me, lead me along the path, from my youth, and allowed me to serve others in meaningful ways. He knows me. He knows the joys and the trials of my life. He knew that I and my wife would not have any sons, though we were blessed with four radiant daughters. While raising our family of daughters, I was called to teach the youth, principally young men from age 11 to 18. Teaching boys at church is a blessing that I cherish. The daily preparation necessary to effectively teach has been a driving force in life. I learned that to teach, one has to live what is being taught. Eventually, the Lord had sufficiently prepared me touch lives in another way. He called me to an office within His kingdom that allows me to touch and individually bless, our Father's children.

How I live my faith

God has guided me, lead me along the path of life by His Spirit, from my youth, and allowed me to work and serve others in meaningful ways. He knows me. He knows my talents, strengths and the challenges I face. I approach Him daily; seeking inspiration in my work as an engineer. I attribute the creativity I enjoy and the solutions I have found to difficult problems to inspiration from God.These precious experiences motivate and inspire me to do my best and be my best at work, with my family and with callings to teach and lead in His Church. The daily preparation necessary to effectively teach and testify of Christ has become a driving force in my life. I try everyday to live an exemplary life, to be like Christ. I try to work and design as He would do. Of course, I often fall short of the ideal, but I try. The years of service to humanity through engineering and testifying of Christ in various settings has brought me to where I am now; touching lives and blessing individuals, one by one.
