Hi I'm DarLee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I thrive on physical activity. I do Pilates and weights in my home and hike every day I can in the mountains around our house. I was a fitness instructor and coached club and high school volleyball for 16 years. But most importantly I have a delightful daughter and son-in-law, great sons and daughters-in-law, a rock star husband. We love four-wheeling, cliff jumping, and river kayaking. Creating new recipes in the kitchen is something I find therapeutic. I like eating healthy foods but I also love home made desserts. My new favorite activity is visiting my grandbabies!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a mormon home. Once I left for college it was my own decision to continue in the mormon faith. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the reason my life is so complete. The gospel gives me a purpose for doing what I do every day. Maintaining and enriching relationships with everyone I know is what life is all about.

How I live my faith

I start and end every day with prayer! I attend church every Sunday with the Young Single Adults. I find our differences intriguing and our similarities invigorating! I volunteer weekly at two food pantries and love the people I work with and the clients we get to serve. I hope with all my heart that I am kind to everyone I meet because I think my life can be blessed by each one of those individuals. I realize that I make mistakes but I know that through Christ's atoning sacrifice I can repent and start each day fresh. I got involved recently in local politics in our new state and hope to make a difference.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

The Church is the true church on the face of the earth. It contains a fulness of the gospel fo Jesus Christ--meaning it's all there!! Anyone who learns about the church and honestly prays about it will receive that comfirmation. In a day when there is so much turmoil, I think people are looking for good morals and wholesome family values. That's what the church has to offer. Peace, answers, and stability. What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like experiencing life with a guide book. I feel like I have a little "cheat sheet" to help me sail through the things that might otherwise be difficult. It doesn't mean life is without its difficulties; but I have the means to mange them. Because of our health code, or the "Word of Wisdom", I don't have any addictions to drugs, alcohol, or even caffeine or food. I am free from bad habits. I am not a slave to the many things that drag others down. I value family and service. They are a priority and as a result, they bring me great happiness. I know that it matters to be a good person. I know that the relationships I make here on earth will go with me to the next life. And knowing that there IS a next life helps me try harder each day to be kind to everyone I meet and be honest and true. And I learned all these truths from the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the other works of scriptures. Those are my guide books. Also, there stands at the head of our church a man who is God's mouth piece; he is the prophet for the whole world. To know that God has not forgotten us gives me so much hope!! I feel completely safe. I know that when there is something important for us to know, our prophet, Thomas Monson, tells us. Being a Mormon is the best! I am truly blessed. Show more Show less
