Hi I'm Russell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Flight Engineer Instructor and I have two great kids who I love to spend time with. I also enjoy mountain biking, camping and surfing when I'm close to an ocean.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon and have prayed about it and know, I mean really know, that God lives, that he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to us and that he lived and died for us. I have never found anything that compares to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the spirit is so strong that you can feel the presence of our Heavenly Father. Several times in my life I have received spiritual direction from our Heavenly Father and have found that repentance, love of God and love of those around you can, and will, bring you peace.

How I live my faith

I pray every morning, evening, and at mealtimes. I look forwards to going to church on Sunday and I try to read from the scriptures every day. Also I like church gatherings and socials because it’s easy to gain strength from the testimonies and experiences of others that touches my life and helps me to live to be better.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is different in that it is a story of the coming of Jesus Christ from a parallel viewpoint. Think of it like this If Jesus Christ is so important to all of our lives, why would he only be revealed to people in one area of the world? Likewise the Bible even says if any of you lack faith let him ask of God, which is exactly what Joseph Smith did - and he received an answer! You can too. Read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, pray, and ask God for yourself. Also, Joseph Smith went on to pray and receive revelation about an ancient people who also kept records of Jesus Christ's coming and was told where to find the records which became known as the Book of Mormon.  Show more Show less
