Hi I'm Mark

I like to ride my bike, garden in my garden, be with my family. I like simple things.

About Me

I am married but don't have any children. I like to spend time outdoors. I am curious about many things enjoy learning new things. I enjoy spending time with family, mountain biking, and camping. I have the cutest dog you will ever see. I believe in Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I found out about the church through the family I was born into. While I learned all about the church growing up I had to decide if I wanted to remain faithful and practicing as an adult. I find the Mormon church has a very rich culture and theology. I find the Book of Mormon enhances my understanding of the Bible. I find in the ordinances of baptism and sacrament an enabling power that helps me live life better and feel the Holy Spirit in my life. This gives me confidence I am on the right path. Mormon teachings on the nature of God, and family life are very meaningful to me and give voice to some of my greatest hopes. I believe in living prophets and can feel prophetic guidance every General Conference. I believe Mormonism has helped me draw closer to Jesus Christ and to recognize Him as my Savior and Redeemer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith very quietly. I am not pushy or flamboyant about my beliefs. I try to be a good person by loving God and my fellowman.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Mark
Yes. When we read the Bible and read of people like Noah, Abraham and Moses it seems hard to think anyone living today could be like them. Such heroic deeds as filling the ark with animals or delivering the children of Israel out of Egypt are not the kinds of deeds we see everyday. Prophets like Abraham and Moses taught of Christ and His future coming. Events in these ancient prophet's lives prefigured the coming of Jesus Christ. Today modern prophets also preach of Christ, looking back to his earthly ministry and forward to His eventual return. These prophets can lead us in spiritual ways that are just as real the Exodus. As they lead us to Christ we can become just as free and delivered as Moses and his people. They are the watchmen on the tower, that Isaiah speaks of. Show more Show less
