Hi I'm Paul

I'm a father, student, and gamer. I seek truth wherever I can find it - in science and religion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate student in Nuclear Engineering with a lovely wife and an infant son. My career is in numerical methods for computational modeling, and when not at work or school I enjoy rock climbing, soccer, video games, and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

There are laws that govern the universe we live in, and by using those laws, we can improve our life. As it turns out, there is a Father in Heaven who knows all those laws, and seeks to guide us to fulfill our purpose and obtain true happiness. I'm not a Mormon in spite of being a scientist; rather, I'm a Mormon because I am a scientist.

How I live my faith

Faith to me is action based on hope. I live my faith through visiting other members of the church to fellowship and strengthen each other as well as attend church meetings weekly.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Because our Father in Heaven loves us, he's given us many ways to come to know Him. Prayer is the chief tool that we can use to help us gain perspective like our Father has. Spending time on our knees pleading to understand our place and purpose in life brings learning opportunities that help us know our Heavenly Father. It's not a mistake that His self-given title is patriarchal whenever we have concerns, joys, or other things we'd usually talk about to a traditional earthly father, we can take those same things to our Heavenly Father. In return, just like a traditional father, our Heavenly Father watches us with great interest and care, and will help us where He can and mourn for us when we choose to fight against what we know is right.
