Hi I'm Jodi

I'm a wife and mother and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom of five beautiful kids. I enjoy teaching them and like finding creative ways for us to learn together. My husband is a talented Professional Artist and Middle school Art Teacher. I love to read and have tried my hand at writing. I especially enjoy writing children's books. I'm waiting patiently for my husband to illustrate them! I enjoy swimming, riding my bike and walking on the country road behind our home. I also love to spend time with my family doing whatever! Life can be challenging at times, but there is so much joy to be found even within those challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church. I relied on my parent's testimonies for some time. It wasn't until I was in college and really had to take a look at myself that I realized how much I needed Jesus Christ. It's hard to adequately express my feelings for him. He is my Savior and he is my friend. I have felt of his healing power and of his forgiveness. He has been by my side through heartbreaking trials and given me peace and comfort. He makes it possible for me to learn and grow. I know He lives and I love him with all my heart. I served a mission in Tempe, Arizona. Through that experience my testimony grew even more as I watched others embrace his gospel and saw how their lives were transformed. Now, as a mother, I see the evidence of God's tremendous love in my little ones everyday. I love reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible, especially the New Testament. I know they are true because when I'm reading them, I feel peace and contentment no matter what's happening in my life. I know we have a true and living Prophet on the earth at this time, President Thomas S. Monson. The Lord is at the head of his church today, just as he was when he walked on the earth. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. My testimony is more than just a part of me, it's who I am.

How I live my faith

I have really enjoyed the organizations within the church that I've been able to serve in like Relief Society (for women) Young Women's (for young women ages 12-18) and Primary (for kids ages 3-11) I learn so much from those I serve with. I'm also a visiting teacher. I get to visit four women in my ward each month in their homes. I've grown to love these women so much. They help me feel like I'm not alone in the things I'm experiencing on a day to day basis. I feel like the things I do each day, when no one is watching, are the most important expressions of my faith. The small and simple things like praying, reading my scriptures, loving and serving my family and others are the things that keep me going.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Sometimes I get frustrated because I'm not perfect in everything I do. I can get caught up in dwelling on my many weaknesses. Those are the times when I remember the atonement of Jesus Christ. Because of Him, I can improve a little at a time, step by step, and overcome some of those weaknesses. As I strive to have faith in His ability to help me better myself, I'm able to be a more supportive and loving wife, a more patient and energetic mother and a better listener as a daughter, sister and friend. As my family also strives to put their trust and faith in him, we progress together. With Christ in our lives, we can do all things! Show more Show less
