Hi I'm Jefferson

I'm a husband, a father, a fly-fisherman, a birdwatcher, a baseball fan, and a lawyer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern Colorado and now live in Wyoming. I graduated from BYU with a degree in History. I taught high school in small town Colorado for 7 years. I then changed my career and became an attorney. I work as a public defender in northeast Wyoming. I really enjoy defending the rights of individuals accused of crimes. I think it is one of the most important jobs in the country.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Lord. By practicing my religion everyday I am blessed by the Lord. Being a Mormon is who I am and it is who I want to be. I find safety in the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending meetings every Sunday, but even more importantly I live my faith by praying and reading the scriptures and trying to do what the Lord wants me to do when no one else is around.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jefferson
Finding out if Mormonism is true is a very personal journey. It is not exactly the same for all people. I found out Mormonism was true by putting into practice the teachings of the Church. I saw and felt the blessings come into my life. I have prayed both orally and in my heart. The feelings that I have teach me that the blessings from living the teachings of the Church come because it is true. This is the Holy Ghost teaching me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the earth. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Jefferson
No, it does not. It appears that a majority of members are conservative Republicans, but this is not promoted by the Church. I myself am a liberal Democrat and actively participate in politics and in the church. Show more Show less
