Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a bleeding-heart dreamer with plans to change the world! I love people. I love food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to write, travel and learn. I'm obsessed with exploring culture, food and language. I'm passionate about politics and current events. I dig art and photography. I love to volunteer in my community and work to alleviate poverty and disease. I exist to connect and communicate with others. I love people. I look beyond my sphere and consider the world my oyster.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be. It's not always the easiest choice but I believe in the basic tenants of the religion. I should say I have personal experience with it...I mean, I feel it to be true. I'm a truth seeker and I have found that viewing the world through the prism of Christian and LDS doctrine yields the clearest picture for me.

How I live my faith

I like to volunteer. I feel like the true expression of any Christian faith is to serve others, so that's what I try to do, without judgment or ulterior motives to convert or change their thinking. Just serving, giving, loving. I love to learn. Constantly expanding my knowledge of the world around me is a vital part of how I live my faith. Seeking for truth for me doesn't just mean religiously. Knowing what is going on in the world and being a part of the conversation is a vital part of my religion.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Joseph
Absolutely NOT! There may be some traditional or conventional wisdom that says it does, but it just isn't true. The beauty of this church for me is that it is so adaptable to personal and political thought. As I seek guidance from God, I can really take ownership of my political opinions that are right for me within the context of my town, my country and my life. I feel like when people can't see how others can think differently then they do, God can, and He's OK with it! Show more Show less
