Hi I'm Brock

I love my family and sports I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been out about 7 months now. I'm in the Montana Billings Mission and I love it. I have a firm testimony of the gospel and enjoy sharing it to others. I'm a very big outdoors kind of person loved hunting and fishing before my mission. I'm orginally from Queen Creek Arizona. It's about 45 minutes southeast of Phoenix. I love my family very much I have an older sister and brother then younger sister and brother so I'm in the middle. Then I have 2 nephews I love very much. Unfortunately my brother died at the age of 4 from a disease called CAH. It was really hard on my mom and dad me and my sister were really young so we didn't really understand but it was still tough on my parents and grandparents. My friends play a big role in where I'm at in my life they mean a lot to me. Through them I have realized the importance of having good friends. Before I started serving a mission I enjoyed spending time with my friends we went to movies, fishing, hunting, tubing on the lake etc. I have learned a lot from my life experiences. I'm a pretty easy going person. That's all about me!!!

Why I am a Mormon

That's a question I have often asked myself. Why do i believe what I do? Well I have been a member since the age of 8 and raised in the church but i keep being a member because I have witnessed first hand the joy it brings into my life and the lives of my family members. There are so many interesting things that I love about the church for example that there is life after death and I will see loved ones who have past one again. That's my favorite part about the gospel of Jesus Christ that we will all see our families again and the ability we have to be together forever. I know that my heavenly father loves me and because he loves me he has called a prophet to lead and guide me. The prophet can not lead me astray god would not allow him to speak false words. I love the feeling I get when I read the Book of Mormon. The power of the book is unreal and there is no way that it cant be the word of god.

How I live my faith

Wow I cant really summarize the ways I live my faith. I guess the biggest way I live my faith is by serving as a full time missionary. As a missionary my primary purpose is to invite all to come unto Christ through faith in him and his atonement. This is one of the biggest ways we show our love for god and his son Jesus Christ. Before my mission I helped in local community service projects to better the community and help those in need. I try to be a friend to all I come in contact with and to be a true representative of Jesus Christ.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Brock
The money wew donate to tithing is 10% of our increase in money. it is used to further the work of the lord such as build temples and church buildings. it also helps pay to publish books, manuals, pamphlets etc. i really have a strong testimony of this subject. we are promised great blessings if we pay our tithing. alot of people ask how can i afford to pay my tithing in such hard economical times? i would like to ask a question in respense. how can we afford not to. as we are diligent in paying our tithing the lord will bless us with our needs. that doesnt mean he will bless us with a huge house or nice car etc. money may still be tight but you will always have enough to survive. the blessings that come from tithing are amazing and can not be numbered. we read in the book of malachi chapter 3 verses 10&11:Bring ye all the atithes into the storehouse, that there may be bmeat in mine house, and cprove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not dopen you the ewindows of heaven, and pour you out a fblessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.And I will arebuke the bdevourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. those are very powerful scriptures. i know that as we pay tithing we recieve blessings we wont even understand why the lord blessed us with such great blessings. Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Brock
Yes i most definately do. God has called prophets to help us and lead us back to him. With out a prophet the world would be a huge mess. We read in Amos chapter 3 verse 7 that "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, abut he brevealeth his csecret unto his servants the prophets". A prophet is called to lead and guide the church. Not only does he guide us he lets us know of gods will as it says in Amos. God speaks directly to the prophet then he reveals gods will to us the "people". I know without a doubt that without a prophet on the earth the world would be worse than it is. They help us draw closer to our heavenly father and his son Jesus christ. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Brock
We increase our faith in Jesus Christ in many different ways. My faith grows everytime that i read the scriptures. We can increase our faith in him by living our lives in harmony of his teachings and asking for his help. We also must understand what faith is. Faith is to believe or have hope in something we cant physically see or feel. We can always feel of gods presence as we live the way he has asked us to live. When we pray we are exercising our faith in him and in return our faith grows. Show more Show less
