Hi I'm Erin

I work full-time and attend school to become a teacher. I enjoy reading, yoga, and spending time with my husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Erin! I'm a twenty-something year old living in Florida with my husband, Ryan, where he attends full-time school. I am currently working full-time working as a loan originator for mortgages. I have the privilege to attend online school and continue working towards my degree in education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, relaxing at the beach, and yoga. I love life, even with its many trials, difficulties, uncertainties, as well as its beauty, teaching opportunities, and happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, and have felt the gospel's goodness envelope my life. However, just like anyone, I needed to know for myself if what I have been taught is true. As I grew up, I had many different experiences taking me to lots of different places. Often times I felt alone, and afraid. With family and friends far away, I reached out to a loving Heavenly Father in prayer. This is when my relationship with my Father in Heaven truly became something substantial. I came to learn of His love for me, the plan of happiness He holds for me, the things that I hold so dear are things that are important to Him, too. I came to know that God knows me perfectly and cares greatly about me. This was a great stepping stone in my life. Since then, I have relied on Him in prayer, which He has given me great truths and direction for my life. I have come to know from Him that He wants His children to be happy, which is why He restored His gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith. He provided us with His plan of happiness which gives us purpose in life and the hope for the eternities to come. He wants each of us, his beloved children, to return home to Him. Prayer has been a great strength in my life. I know these things are true because of prayer and communicating with God. I encourage all to pray to Him, to come to know Him. He listens and He will respond.

How I live my faith

My husband and I actively attend church weekly to worship our Savior and learn more about His gospel. We strive to do our best to follow his teachings throughout the week and to be Christ's disciples. I may not be perfect, and surely stumble, but I know that Christ's sacrifice for me makes up for my imperfections and He helps me to become better. In our church we have many opportunities to serve. For the past two years, I have been assigned to work with the 14-16 year old girls. I've had the privilege to plan activities, teach lessons, and help mentor them as they learn about Jesus Christ. It has been a wonderful opportunity and has taught me so much.

What is faith?

Faith is trusting in the Lord and His plan for you. Sometimes it seems that life can be challenging and often times discouraging, but when we have faith, we believe that God can deliver us and has a plan of happiness for us. As we rely on Him, and His strength, He will guide us to greater heights and will enable us to grow in ways that we can't possibly imagine. Have faith that the Lord loves you and wants what is best, even when all else seems impossible. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. It is a choice that we have the opportunity to make. I personally made the decision to serve a mission, because I have seen the happiness that gospel has given me, and the strength that it has in my life that I desired that others might have the same. Imagine baking a delicious treat. You have made plenty, and it is the best treat you have ever made. Would you want to keep it for yourself, or share with those you love? This is what motivates many of us to choose to serve a mission. Show more Show less
