Hi I'm Elena!

I'm a Texas native. I'm a wife and an avid reader. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in the medical field. I love to eat good food, swim, work out, and read. I am a very friendly and outgoing person and love to socialize. I am very involved in the LDS church, and love to give service when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. My parents converted to the church when they were teenagers. Growing up, I was taught the principles, beliefs, and standards of the church by my parents and church leaders. I believe in the Gospel because I know it to be correct, and I have received the most joy and happiness in my life by abiding the principles it teaches.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday School to a group of 14 year olds. I have about 5 boys and 1 girl in my class, and they are a lot of fun. Preparing to teach the lessons every Sunday helps me learn more about the Gospel. Right now we are studying the Old Testament and I have enjoyed being able to read all the fun stories in the Bible. I enjoy socializing with other members of the church and love going to activities where I can meet new people.

What is the Relief Society?

Elena!
The Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the whole world. It is made up of all the women in the Mormon church. Usually on Sundays, if you are a woman you attend Relief Society for the third hour of church. During Relief Society you learn more about the Gospel from the teachers and have a chance to socialize with other women in the church. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Elena!
You can't take someone else's word for it. What's so great about knowing there is a God is being able to pray to him and find out for yourself if the church is true. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Elena!
The Mormon lifestyle is not too different from the lifestyle of someone who is not a member of the church. Probably the biggest differences are that we do not drink or smoke, watch vulgar or extremely violent movies, or participate in activities that would compromise our faith. Show more Show less
