Hi I'm William

my friends call me Willie and I'M A MORMON.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho in a family of seven. I married my high school sweetheart after serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a result, I am husband to a beautiful wife and father of five wonderful children. I am also "Grandpa Grandpa" to seven and love spending time with family. I enjoy the outdoors and athletics, with baseball being my favorite. I coached little league baseball for many years and then for the past 25 years have umpired High School and summer baseball and girl's fastpitch softball. I have been a proprietor in the printing industry since 1976.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Growing up, I watched my parents serve others as they fulfilled their responsibilities in the church. I was taught gospel doctines and principles in the home and at church and I came to an understanding of those teachings line upon line. As a young man I had a significant experience in the "Sacred Grove", the same place that Joseph Smith had his first vision, as the Holy Spirit bore witness to me that what Joseph said happended in that grove really did happen as he said it did. I have had many such experiences since then, allowing me to have a very personal testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and of his teachings. The gospel of Jesus Christ allows me to have peace, hope and understanding in my life, with the knowledge that with righteous living, I will be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

After serving as Bishop for 4 1/2 years, followed by the Stake Presidency for 9 years, I have the opportunity of serving in a bishopric of a young single adult ward, whose members are between the ages of 18-30. It is a wonderful opportunity to serve the young people of the church and community. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is such a wonderful foundation in understanding the Plan of Happiness in knowing where we came from, why we are here on this earth life and what we need to do to return to live with our Father in Heaven after this life. It is wonderful to share that knowledge with young people, as well as to feel their strength.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

William
Worthy church members go to temples to receive sacred ordinances and make sacred covenants that are needed to return to and live with God. Church members also perform these temple ordinances in behalf of deceased persons who have not received the ordinances. Show more Show less
