Hi I'm Martha

I have five children, three grandchildren and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and a friend. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, shopping and shoes. I also collect Nativity sets.

Why I am a Mormon

The principles taught in our faith are a part of my every day life. They comfort me through trials and give me direction so I can fulfill my roles better. My testimony of the Savior and what He has done for me touches every part of my life. Because I know Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to return to Him so much that He would allow His perfect Son to suffer, makes me want to be more loving, patient, and kind. Because I know that Heavenly Father has a living Prophet on the earth, I know I can trust the guidance and counsel he gives. I know that counsel helps me in deveolping attributes like our Savior.

How I live my faith

I love to be with teenagers and have spent a lot of my time teaching them. I have also volunteered in my children's schools. I have organized and helped plan uplifting activities and experiences to provide the young people opportunities to feel the love their Savior has for them. I find it exciting when the Holy Ghost touches their hearts and testifies of the truthfullness of this gospel. The joy that brings cannot be put into words.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Martha
Holding a new born baby and looking at how perfect that little person is tells me that the creation of this person is not an evolution or a happen chance. He or she has a spirit about them that is sacred an special and it can be felt. I also can see it when I look at nature, the intracacey of some flowers, the beauty and balance of the out doors and animals. It is beautiful and sacred. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Martha
Men and women each have important and complimentary roles. Neither is more important than the other. The men when worthy hold the priesthood and serve the members. Service in the priesthood is always done to someone else. Women also have an important role to nurture, love and teach each other and their children. Women can lead in righteousness by setting a good example and living their lives in a manner that reflects the love of the Savior. I have never felt subordinate to men in the church. I have had many opportunities to lead in our church as I have served in youth programs. Show more Show less
