Hi I'm Emily

I'm a traveler, dreamer and language lover!

About Me

I'm a person who can't see enough of the world- it truly is amazing! I've lived in five countries, and I was raised with three different cultures. What I've discovered is that the world is full of strangers that are simply family you have yet to come to know. (Name that quote!) In my free time I love to write, stay up late reading mystery novels, and daydream in the travel section of bookstores. On any other day you will find me sharing funny stories with friends or planning my next travel adventure. I'm recently married to my best friend, who also loves to cook for me! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in the "good news" our church brings! I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for me, just as He does for you. There is a purpose for each of us in this life, and God is there for us as we follow Him. I've known from a young age that living this faith makes me and my family happy. I am more confident in who I am and what I can do, less frustrated when I face life challenges, and at peace when I need comfort. This church has changed my life for the better!

How I live my faith

In the past, I've helped organize activities for youth in the church. I've participated in music programs from performing in groups to directing music in our meetings. What I've enjoyed the most from all of my various church callings is teaching and strengthening women. On my mission in Russia I had the chance to talk to others about the special beliefs we have that make us happy.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Emily
Yes! (You might want to sit down for this great news!) I love reading the stories of prophets in the Old Testament. The prophets spoke to the people of that time about the things they most needed to hear. I'm so grateful that just like in biblical times, we have a prophet for us now! Our prophet truly is a man called by God to help us. I know this is true every time I read his insights and guidance for us in these times. With a living prophet to guide us, we know what to focus on in our personal and family life. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Emily
We believe that families can be together forever. This is one of the greatest blessings there is! I grew up in a family of five kids and they are all so dear to me. Because of the gospel and the teachings in our church, we have come closer to one another. We make family time a priority and it truly is a strength to have a team of people cheering you on when life gets rough sometimes. Most importantly, we know that our family doesn't end when one of us passes on. No matter the struggles that you may have in your family..... the teachings of this gospel can help you to overcome them. Show more Show less
